In March 2010, she returned to Durban for the inaugural Deloitte Street Child World Cup. Meg was one of the artists leading workshops at the event, where teams of street children from eight countries competed in a football tournament and engaged in creative expression. At the end of the championship, the Deloitte Street Child World Cup Exhibition at Durban Art Gallery featured a series of Megs portraits of street children alongside the art-work produced by the children themselves.
The painting 'Gurpreet – Team India, Street Child World Cup', is one of a series of eight works, capturing players from the competing countries; India, Nicaragua, South Africa, Philipines, Ukraine, Brazil, Tanzania, UK.
These acrylic paintings on canvas intentionally adopt a child-like style while attempting to capture the innate dignity in every child, whatever their circumstances.
